Example:

If Height = 4 in

Base = 5 in

A = b x h = 5 in X 4 in = 20 in² 

Note that we use the exponent "2" to show we multiplied inches in this example.  Read as "inches squared".

Reminder that when we multiply decimals we multiply like normal and then we "scoop" and count over that many places.
