statistical question is one for which you don't expect to get a single answer. Instead, you expect to get a variety of different numerical answers, and you are interested in the distribution and tendency of those answers. If the question has one right answer, it is not a statistical question. For example, "How many minutes are in one hour?" is not a statistical question. If the question can be asked to different people with variable numerical responses for the answer, it is a statistical question. For example, "How much does it cost to get a haircut?" is a statistical question. Variable data generated from statistical questions can be analyzed to determine the distribution of data.
